Emily Heim, MA, MSW, LPC, LCSW
Owner Psychotherapy Associates
Emily has worked as a therapist for 30+ years completing a Masters degree in Clinical Psychology (1988) from Radford University in Virginia and a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work (1998) from the University of Pittsburgh. She has extensive knowledge, treating a variety of mental health issues over the years and providing clinical supervision to LPC/LCSW supervisees. Emily has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She opened her own private practice, Psychotherapy Associates in 2007. Emily’s clinical expertise includes Eating Disorders and Child/Adolescent Disorders.
Devyn Nestor, MSW, LCSW
Devyn graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with an MSW. Prior to being employed at Psychotherapy Associates, Devyn spent most of her career working with the criminal justice population in correctional facilities where she was providing mental health and suicide prevention services. Additionally, Devyn has developed a well-rounded background in the clinical social service field, as she is known for specializing in treating co-occurring disorders. . She is experienced in serving adolescents and adults with histories of mental health, drug and alcohol and behavior/legal issues. Devyn seeks to engage in therapeutic interventions that are client centered.

Jenn Kita, MS, LPC
Jennifer graduated in 2009 with a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and licensed in 2014 as a Licensed Professional Counselor . Her experience is broad. Initially, Jennifer worked in the child welfare system and with the geriatric population. In 2011, Jennifer began working for community mental health as a therapist and eventually a supervisor. Jennifer has provided treatment to children, adolescents, and adults in individual, family, and group settings. She uses a client-centered, motivational, and strengths-based approach to treatment. She believes that you need to meet clients where they are so that treatment is a collaborative effort. Her clinical skills and experience assist children/parents, adolescents and adults who are struggling, and help them gain hope and build on their strengths. Due her extensive experience, she has provided clinical supervision to LPC supervisees towards their licensure training. In addition to working part-time at Psychotherapy Associates, Jennifer continues to work full-time as a Clinical Quality Improvement Consultant for opioid treatment centers throughout the East Coast.

Erin Harper, MS, LPC
Erin graduated from Chatham University with her Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology and holds a Pennsylvania license as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She comes with diverse experience in multiple sectors of the mental health field. Prior to being employed at Psychotherapy Associates, Erin provided supervision in a Community and School Based Behavioral Health program that bridged the gap between mental health in a school and home setting. Additionally, Erin has worked extensively in Family Based therapy, drug and alcohol counseling, residential treatment facilities, and foster care community setting with transitional support.
Erin firmly believes in treating mental health from a holistic view in a judgement free zone by fostering a therapeutic relationship with clients that is collaborative. She works from an eclectic model of therapy that punctuates strengths and includes modalities (but not limited to) Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Structural Family Therapy.

Mary Regets Workman, MA, LPC, NCC
Mary brings a wide range of experience to Psychotherapy Associates for all ages. She has worked in child welfare, victim advocacy, and at-risk youth and their families in both the home and school settings. Mary completed her Masters in Counseling from Waynesburg University in 2010 and licensed in 2015 as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Pennsylvania. Mary is adept at treating bipolar disorder, personality disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, grief, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post- traumatic stress disorder, attention deficit disorders and oppositional defiant disorder; she has a clinical emphasis addressing addictive disorders and trauma. She completed specialized certifications to administer DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy), but she incorporates other therapeutic modalities which include person centered approach, motivational interviewing, CBT and Trauma-Focused CBT. Mary tailors her therapeutic interventions to the client’s needs.

Christina Monroe, MS, LPC
Christina is a vivacious and engaging addition to Psychotherapy Associates. Christina completed her Masters in Counselling Psychology from Chatham University in 2015 and her Licensed Professional Counselor credential in 2021. During her career, she specialized and treated children and adolescents. She worked within the school system with children ranging from Kindergarten to 8th grade for 5 years post-Masters addressing mental health and behavioral issues. Christina has also worked with adults and can deal with a variety of mental health diagnoses, using various therapeutic modalities.

Judy Berg, MA, LPC
Judy Berg, a Licensed Professional Counselor, holds a Masters in Professional Counseling from the Methodist Theological School of Ohio/University of Dayton. With 20+ years of experience, she brings a wealth of knowledge to address Mental Health and the Addiction issues at Psychotherapy Associates. She believes that we all have the inner potential to overcome life’s obstacles. Often struggles can hinder our ability to access our strengths and we become lost. Judy provides a judgement-free and nurturing environment where it is safe to undertake change and find our way back. Judy’s life experience also adds an element of understanding, having raised her children as a divorced single parent. She enjoys addressing women’s issues, depression, and anxiety. Self-esteem, addictions, eating issues, stress management, life-phase changes, relationships and intimacy are therapeutic focal points that Judy has specialized training. Judy knows that her connection and trust with clients becomes the foundation for their growth within the mind, body and spirit. She views the therapeutic relationship as sacred and special so that she works WITH her clients and not AT them. At that point, healing begins.

Krista Powell, MS, LPC
Krista joined Psychotherapy Associates in September of 2023. She holds a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from California University of Pennsylvania, awarded in 2021, and obtained licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor. Krista has a therapeutic background within the community mental health and substance abuse settings. Throughout her experience, Krista has delivered therapeutic interventions to diverse populations encompassing children, adolescents, and adults across individual, family, and group modalities. Her services extend to addressing a spectrum of mental health disorders including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, addictive disorders, and self-esteem issues, among others.
Drawing from a comprehensive therapeutic toolkit, Krista utilizes various clinical modalities but some of her preferred treatment approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Rogerian Styled Therapy, Play Therapies and Emotion Focused Therapy to tailor treatment plans that meet the unique needs of her clients. Renowned for her collaborative, non- judgmental, and empathetic approach, clients can anticipate a supportive therapeutic environment under her care. Krista is committed to fostering authenticity and genuineness in her interactions, valuing humor as a means to establish rapport and promote healing within the therapeutic relationship.
